Game 1 of the NBA Finals tips off in under an hour. I know it’s late in the day, but here are my bets for tonight’s game between the Toronto Raptors and the Golden State Warriors.
First up is a money back ‘Same Game Multi’ with Paddy Power – money back if your 4+ fold same game acca doesn’t win… I’ve opted to go with a four fold of a Golden State win, Raptors to win the first quarter, Klay Thompson over 22.5 points and Danny Green over 1.5 threes made at 16/1. I fancy the Warriors to pull off a relative upset tonight, their well rested and repeat champions for a reason. However, I can see them losing the first quarter due to that extra rest showing up as rustiness early on. Additionally, Thompson usually looks good for a decent haul of points (especially if he hits his threes) and Green should be good for at least two threes in a crucial game like this. I’m happy with 16/1 about this…
I’ve backed Gasol, Draymond Green and Ibaka each to block 2+ shots at 28/1 with Skybet. That doesn’t seem a bad price considering Gasol and Green averaged 2 and 2.8 blocks respectively in their Conference Finals series. Surprisingly, the weak link is Serge Ibaka who average just 0.3 blocks per game in the previous round. I’m hoping Ibaka can live up to his Iblocka nickname and deliver tonight for a nice 28/1 win.
As already mentioned, I can see Golden State pulling out a win tonight – I’ve backed GSW to win, Curry 30+ points, Kawhi 25+ points, Thompson 20+ points and Draymond Green double-double at 9/1. Along a similar line, I’ve backed Leonard, Curry, Thompson 20+ points, Draymond Green and Lowry 7+ assists at 5/1, both with Skybet. Hopefully we see a relatively free-scoring affair and the three main protaganists can get their required points. Green and Lowry are their team’s playmakers and should be able to rack up at lesat seven assists each shout the shooters knock their shots down. Green average nearly nine assists in the Conference Finals, whilst Lowry managed 5.2 whilst scoring more freely.
Best of luck!
