The NBA’s Final Four

NBA Conference Finals

The Conference Finals kick off tonight, with the Western Finals between Golden State and Portland tipping off at 2AM GMT. Milwaukee and Toronto start their Eastern Conference Finals series tomorrow night.

This post is going to focus on bets for the series, rather than tonight and tomorrow’s games. First up is the extremely boring and probably predictable Golden State sweep over Portland. Even without Kevin Durant, the Warriors still have enough to dispatch Lillard, McCollum and co. Although Durant’s absense makes a sweep less likely, I do like the 11/2 on offer with Skybet, Paddy Power (6/1 boosted), Betfair and Bet365 and probably many more for Golden State to win the series 4-0.

I’ve also backed a Golden State 4-1 / Milwaukee 4-2 double at 17/1 with Skybet – Portland could very well pick up a win at home against the Warriors, but the Bucks/Raptors series will surely be a tight affair. Sure, it could go a full seven games, but I think the Bucks will get it done in six – winning all their home games. Giannis and the Bucks have lost just one game so far during the post season (the first game of teh second round against the Celtics) and are well rested entering this series. On the other hand, the Raptors had to work hard to beat the Sixers in a seven game thriller, finishing with that shot by Kawhi Leonard to send Philadelphia home in tears. 4-2 is probably a fair result all things considered – my head says the Bucks and their MVP candidate, but my heart wants the Raptors and a chance for Kawhi to stay North of the border.

Finally, I’ve placed a top series point scorer double. I like Leonard to continue his crazily efficient scoring in this round and be the Raptors’ main man, but also see Steph Curry as the figurehead for the Warriors. Durant may return for Game 2 (most likely later than that), but Curry will have to carry a larger load in his absense and I think the second half of Game 6 against the Rockets was a glimpse into what that may mean. I’ve backed Curry and Leonard to be Top Series Point Scorers at 2.45/1 with Skybet.

Golden State to win series 4-0 @ 11/2 – 2pt
GS 4-1 / MIL 4-2 @ 17/1 – 1pt
Curry and Leonard top scorers @ 2.45/1 – 1pt
