The Boston Celtics travel to Utah to face the Jazz this evening as the second leg of a back to back. As explained earlier in the week, Utah is the second-toughest destination for teams to travel to off a game the previous night.
Monday’s poor showing by Utah can be put down to more than the Raptors’ lack of expected fatigue. The Jazz were missing Donovan Mitchell and had an absolute stinker of a third quarter – the period of the game I was expecting them to take a lead and pull away.
However, tonight the Jazz will have Mitchell to play against what should be an absolutely knackered Celtics team. Last night in Phoenix, the Celtics came back from a 15 point deficit entering the final quarter to force overtime and get a win in Arizona – Kyrie Irving logging 43 minutes of action. The Jazz will have had their feet up watching the game on their rest day and should be looking to capitalise on the physcial and no doubt emotional toll last night’s thriller had on Irving and co.
Utah enter this game after finally recording their first home win of the campaign with a comfortable victory on Wednesday night against Dallas. This is the final game of a three-game homestand for the Jazz and they’ll be looking to pick up a win before heading on the road.
I think they’ll have enough to win this game and fancy the Jazz to beat the handicap line of -3.5 at 10/11 with Paddy Power. Additionally, I think there’s value in backing Boston to lead at the half and Utah to win the game due to the probable fatigue the visitors will suffer from. The Celtics/Jazz double result is available at 5/1 with RedZoneSports and I’d recommend having a flutter at half your usual stake on that.
Utah Jazz -3.5 @ 10/11 – 1pt
